Online payment network Dwolla has pulled in $16.5 million in a third funding round led by venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, according to VentureBeat. Previous investors Village Ventures, Thrive Capital, and Union Square Ventures also contributed. Dwolla raised its $5 million Series B round in February 2012.

The New York-based media marketing firm Simulmedia has raised another $5 million in funding from Time Warner Investments, Avalon Ventures, and Union Square Ventures, according to an SEC Filing. The investors have collectively invested roughly $32 million in Simulmedia since its 2009 founding.

Hailo said it raised $30.6 million in a deal led by Union Square Ventures. The taxi app network also said it added Tom Barr, former head of the coffee business at Starbucks, as its new president and COO USA. The company has now raised $50 million.
