TA Associates and Updata Partners said Wednesday they plan to make a “significant” investment in Nintex Group. Financial terms were not announced. Nintex, of Melbourne, Australia, is a software provider. Macquarie Capital is currently a Nintex investor. The Wall Street Journal said the consortium’s offer for Nintex was valued at US$222 million. Spurrier Capital Partners and Macquarie provided advisory services to Nintex.

LogiXML said it closed a $10 million growth equity investment led by Summit Partners. Also participating in the round is existing investor Grotech Ventures. Interactions Corporation, provider of natural, conversational automated systems for customer care, has appointed David Parkinson has chief operating officer. Parkinson, who brings more than 25 years of executive experience, will be responsible for end-to-end client relationships, which includes professional services, sales, and client relations. Interactions Corporation is backed by Sigma Partners, North Hill Ventures, Cross Atlantic Capital Partners and Updata Partners.

New York companies Datran Media and Contextweb have merged to create Pulsepoint, a digital media company that targets marketers. Updata Partners led an $18 million growth equity investment in Pet360 Inc., an online pet information and commerce company. Existing shareholder LLR Partners also contributed to the round. The company, based in Plymouth Meeting, Penn., is the parent company of pet food and supplies site PetFoodDirect.com, as well as other web sites focused on pets. Updata Partners has offices in Virginia and New Jersey.

Alert Logic, a provider of on-demand security-as-a-service technology, has closed on $12.6 million in Series E financing. Existing investors Updata Partners, Covera Ventures, DFJ Mercury and Access Venture Partners all contributed to the round, along with several members of the company’s management team. The company will use the fresh capital to expand its sales efforts, and broaden its products and services. Alert Logic is based in Houston and was formed in 2002.

RES Software, an Amsterdam-based provider of user workspace management software, has raised $12.5 million in VC funding from Updata Partners.

Live Cargo Inc. has acquired CMWare Inc., a Plainsboro, N.J.-based provider of mobile marketing technology. No pricing terms of the equity and cash sale were disclosed. Progress Partners managed the process for CMWare, which had raised an undisclosed amount of VC funding from Updata Partners.
