European media and communications focused private equity group GMT Communications Partners together with Veronis Suhler Stevenson have teamed up with management to provide growth capital to IT-Ernity, a provider of business critical managed services and shared hosting for SMEs in the Netherlands. Founded in 2002 by its managing director, Sebastiaan de Koning, and R&D manager Tom Pfeifer, IT-Ernity offers a comprehensive catalogue of standardised fully managed solutions, including system administration, protection, security, application management and other outsourcing services.

Veronis Suhler Stevenson, through its VSS Structured Capital II, has made a minority investment in Cast & Crew Entertainment Services in conjunction with the previously announced acquisition of the company by ZM Capital, ZelnickMedia’s private equity fund. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Veronis Suhler Stevenson said Monday that John Suhler, a founding partner and president, retired at the end of 2012. Suhler is 69 years old and co-founded Veronis Suhler Stevenson in 1981. Suhler has been named Chairman Emeritus and will continue, along with other VSS Partners, to represent VSS at communications industry events, the firm said.

Advanstar Global has completed its previously announced buy of ENK International for $155 million. ENK organizes fashion events in New York, Las Vegas, Europe and Asia. Advanstar is backed by Anchorage Capital Group, Ares Management, and Veronis Suhler Stevenson. GE Capital, RBS Citizens and U.S. Bank provided debt financing for the deal.

Seth Rosenfield has joined Petsky Prunier as an MD. He’s focusing on information services and business media. Rosenfield is a former banker with BMO Capital Markets and Veronis Suhler Stevenson.
