FolioDynamix, a provider of web-based wealth management technology has closed on the acquisition of Access Partners, a premier registered investment advisor (RIA) firm specializing in trust investment management and operations, in an all-cash transaction. Wellington Financial provided $4 million in venture debt financing to FolioDynamix early last year.

Canadian private equity firm Wellington Financial LP has reached a second close on its fourth partnership.  Wellington Financial Fund IV has to date raised a total of C$190 million.  The Toronto, Ontario-based Wellington, which did a total of C$78 million in transactions in 2012, is a specialty finance firm that provides venture debt and growth capital to technology and traditional businesses located across Canada and the United States.

Advertising technology company Invision Inc. has raised $6 million in venture debt financing from Wellington Financial LP. Silicon Valley Bank also provided a $2.5 million line of credit for the company. Invision develops advertising planning and sales management platforms for the media industry.

Ember Corp., a Boston-based provider of wireless “smart meter” technologies, has raised $5 million in venture debt funding from Wellington Financial. It previously raised around $89 million in VC funding from Chevron Technology Ventures, Stata Venture Partners, Polaris Venture Partners, GrandBanks Capital, RRE Ventures, Vulcan Capital, DFJ ePlanet Ventures, New Atlantic Ventures and WestLB Mellon Asset Management.
