Running out of here to begin enjoying the long weekend (really, why are you even reading this?), but a quick personnel note of interest: Basil Horangic has left Austin Ventures, in order to help launch a Silicon Valley office for North Bridge Venture Partners.
Horangic has been with AV for around six years, including the past few as a general partner. He will will temporarily be located in North Bridge’s Waltham, Mass.-based home base, but will soon move west along with existing NBVP partner Paul Santinelli.
In a mass email announcing his move, Horangic said he sourced one of his first deals for NBVP founder Ed Anderson, and that he has “always admired the success and stellar reputation of the firm [Anderson] and his partners have built on the East Coast.”
He adds that the Silicon Valley office – known as North Bridge West – will be active in Silicon Valley, the Pacific Northwest, the Rockies and Texas.
