As virtualization continues to be rolled out in data centers, as next generation networks become flattened, and as IP-based services such as mobile video proliferate, monitoring and securing the network becomes an increasingly complicated task. Distributed traffic capture is the only effective and scalable solution that can address these challenges. Through its distributed architecture and advanced technologies such as vAssureTM, vStack+TM, vSliceTM and protocol stripping, Distributed Traffic Capture Systems provide an intelligent and robust platform for centralized monitoring, tool optimization, and scalability for the network monitoring and security infrastructure.
“Our business is experiencing tremendous momentum at a time when the network performance and operations management market is about to explode,” said Martin Breslin, VSS Monitoring founder and CEO. “Partnering with Battery will help VSS continue to develop and deliver highly innovative solutions. Battery’s already proven success in the networking sector made the firm a natural fit and we believe their domain expertise will be invaluable to us.”
“VSS addresses what is quickly becoming one of the most critical and complex challenges of network performance,” said Neeraj Agrawal, Battery Ventures General Partner. “They’ve built an impressive customer base and robust indirect sales channel that stretches globally. This round of capital will be strategically applied towards accelerating R&D initiatives, growing customer and partner support, and dramatically expanding sales and marketing capacity. We look forward to collaborating with the VSS team and supporting the company on its mission to intensify growth and dominate in their category. ”
Agrawal and Alex Benik, Battery Ventures Principal, will assume seats on VSS Monitoring’s board.
