Debevoise & Plimpton has appointed Michael Diz, Andrew Levine and Dietmar Prager as partners of the firm, effective July 1, 2012. Diz is a member of the corporate department. Levine and Prager are both members of the litigation department. Both are based in the firm’s New York office.

Michael A. Diz, based in the firm’s New York office, is a member of the Corporate Department. His practice focuses on public and private company mergers & acquisitions on behalf of corporate and private equity clients, as well as corporate and securities matters. Mr. Diz joined the firm in 2004. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law (2004) and his B.A., with highest distinction, from the University of Virginia (1999).
Andrew M. Levine, based in the firm’s New York office, is a member of the Litigation Department. His practice focuses on white collar criminal defense and internal investigations, including matters involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and a broad range of complex civil litigation. Prior to joining Debevoise in 2006, Mr. Levine served as Deputy Counsel to the Independent Inquiry Committee into the United Nations Oil-for Food Programme, led by Paul A. Volcker, from 2004 to 2005. He clerked for the Honorable Dennis Jacobs, United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, from 2003 to 2004, and for the Honorable Lewis A. Kaplan, United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, from 2002 to 2003. From 1997 to 1999, he worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company. Mr. Levine received his J.D. from Yale Law School (2002), where he was Senior Editor of the Yale Law Journal and Submissions Editor of the Yale Journal of International Law, and his B.A., summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Yale University (1997).
Dietmar W. Prager, based in the firm’s New York office, is a member of the Litigation Department. His practice focuses on international arbitration. Dr. Prager has represented parties before multiple arbitration institutions in venues throughout the world, with a particular concentration on Latin America. He has sat as arbitrator and regularly advises corporate clients on potential claims under, among others, concession contracts and bilateral investment treaties. Dr. Prager is also active in the firm’s White Collar Practice. Prior to joining Debevoise in 2000, he served as Legal Officer at the Registry of the International Court of Justice from 1998 to 2000. Dr. Prager received his LL.M. from New York University School of Law (1997), his Dr. iur. from the University of Innsbruck (1998) and his Austrian law degree from the University of Vienna (1995).
