Two-Year-Old Gridco Raises $8M More

Gridco Inc., a smart grid power management startup founded by Naimish Patel, founder of publicly traded Sycamore Networksm has raised $8 million in funding from investors, according to an SEC filing that appeared early yesterday.
Patel is listed as president of Gridco. Among those listed as Gridco’s directors are Ric Fulop, a partner at North Bridge Venture Partners and the co-founder of the publicly traded battery company A123 Systems; Hemant Taneja, a managing partner at General Catalyst Partners; and Peter Herbert, cofounder of New York-based Lux Capital.

Gridco raised its first round of funding, a slug of $12.5 million, last summer. The  Woburn, Mass.-based company was founded in 2010.
