This week peHUB is showcasing a position within a European-headquartered listed fund-of-funds. Zurich-headquartered Adveq is looking to strengthen its management team with a significant emphasis on private equity secondaries.
Founded in 1997, Adveq has invested in more than 300 funds on behalf of its clients which comprise institutional investors such as pension funds, insurance companies, family offices and other financial institutions located in Europe, North America and the Asia-Pacific region. Adveq has offices in Zurich, Frankfurt, New York, Beijing and Shanghai, as well as a representative office in Sydney.
In February this year the firm announced it was on a recruitment drive with plans to increase its headcount by over 10% during the course of 2012. The build-up of the team is in response to the firm’s investment and fundraising success, with Adveq’s assets under management having grown to USD 4.3 billion by the end of 2011.
The firm is hiring across a range of functions and locations (mainly for investment management, investor relations and fund administration positions based in Asia and in the Zurich head office). The firm announced that the new hires will bring Adveq’s total headcount to close to 80 by the end of the year. The firm is also currently hiring for an investor relations manager.
Listed private equity offers returns from managed investment in unlisted companies and private equity funds, combined with the liquidity and transparency expected of companies listed on primary stock exchanges. It is a growing part of the private equity asset class and the only part available both to all sizes of institutions and to most individual investors.
Other prominent global listed fund-of-funds include HarbourVest Global Private Equity, Neuberger Berman, Pantheon International Participations, SL Capital Partners and SVG Capital.
