Highland Capital Management said Monday that Jess Larsen has joined as an MD, business development for Europe and the Middle East. Most recently, Larsen was a director, capital introductions at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London.
Highland Capital Management, L.P. (“Highland”), a Dallas-based investment management firm, which together with its affiliates has approximately $19 billion in assets under management, today announced the appointment of Jess Larsen as Managing Director, Business Development for Europe and the Middle East.
In this newly created position, Larsen is responsible for business development and managing institutional relationships in his coverage areas. He is based in London and reports to Clay Shumway, Highland’s Head of Business Development.

Mr. Larsen comes to Highland from Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London where he was Director, Capital Introductions. While at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, his coverage responsibilities included institutional investors such as pension funds, sovereign funds, family offices and insurance companies in the UK, Nordic and Middle East regions.
Prior to Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Mr. Larsen was a Partner at hedge funds VCM Fund Management and Range Capital. He also has experience at UBS Wealth Management and HSBC Private Bank. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Economics from Copenhagen Business School in Denmark.
