Hamilton Lane, the Bala Cynwyd, Penn.-based private equity asset management firm, has hired Paul Waller as a partner in its London office. Waller recently retired from 3i after 35 years.
Hamilton Lane, a leading global private equity asset management firm, today announced that it is expanding its Europe-based presence with the addition of Paul Waller to the newly-created role of Partner in its London office.
Waller will focus primarily on client development and overall firm marketing initiatives. He will also draw upon his extensive experience and background in private equity investment and alternative assets to provide strategic support to the firm.
Waller, who recently retired from 3i after 35 years, brings a wealth of investment knowledge and a broad network throughout Europe and the Middle East, as well as Asia and North America. At 3i, Waller served as a Managing Partner of the firm, with responsibility for investor relations and fundraising. He also previously served as co-chair of the firm’s Investment Committee. Waller will continue to hold various board seats and other advisory roles while working with Hamilton Lane in a part-time capacity.

Waller has over three decades of private equity investment experience, having joined 3i in 1978. He had been a member of the 3i senior leadership team since 1999 and was responsible for overseeing the performance of the various funds managed by 3i, leading 3i’s fundraising activities and managing these investor relationships. Waller is a former Chairman of the European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EVCA) and previously chaired the EVCA Investor Relations Committee.
