Berlin, Germany – Tuesday, 12 November 2013 – 6Wunderkinder, the maker of the Wunderlist productivity app, today announced it has partnered with Sequoia Capital and raised a US$19 million series B round. The round was supported by the company’s existing investors Atomico and Earlybird Ventures, and increases 6Wunderkinder’s total funding to more than US$ 30 million.
The partnership marks Sequoia Capital’s first foray into the emerging world of young German technology companies and 6Wunderkinder is delighted to welcome Sequoia Capital partner Sir Michael Moritz to its board. Sir Michael’s experience in the technology and venture capital industries will be invaluable to 6Wunderkinder as the company continues to build on its international success.
With more than 6 million people and 50,000 businesses around the world using Wunderlist, the partnership will help 6Wunderkinder further expand globally, focussing initially on the US market. This has been a successful year for Wunderlist, with a 476% increase in daily activity among users and the introduction of Wunderlist Pro in April; with Sequoia Capital now on board, 6Wunderkinder is set to fuel user engagement and accelerate the adoption of Wunderlist Pro.
Christian Reber, Founder and CEO of 6Wunderkinder, comments: “We are delighted to have raised this new round and to welcome Sequoia Capital on board as a new investor. Sir Michael’s vast experience and expertise will help us take 6Wunderkinder to the next level and to new markets. We’re also thrilled to be Sequoia Capital’s first investment in Germany. Not only is it a great endorsement of the team here at 6Wunderkinder, it is also a thumbs up to the thriving technology industry here in Berlin.”
Sir Michael Moritz comments: “Wunderlist is one of those addictive apps that make you wonder what you did before it came along. It brings order to the chaotic challenge of tracking ‘to-do’ items. The apparent simplicity of Wunderlist is a tribute to the underlying power of its design. For Sequoia our new relationship with 6Wunderkinder is a continuation of our deep interest in cloud based productivity applications which led to our earlier business partnerships with Dropbox and Evernote.”
Wunderlist is the only way to organise your life and business. Whether you are a freelancer, small business owner or a global corporation, Wunderlist can be counted on to streamline communication and help you accomplish more both as an individual and team. To create a Wunderlist account, visit
