Global growth equity firm Summit Partners has promoted four of its staffers. Leonard Ferrington is now managing director, while Andrew Collins, Matthew Hamilton and Jay Pauley have been upped to principal. Ferrington and Collins are based in the firm’s Menlo Park, Calif. office. Hamilton and Pauley work out of Summit’s Boston base.
BOSTON, MA (January 8, 2014)—Summit Partners, a global growth equity investor, today announced four promotions in its Menlo Park and Boston offices. Leonard Ferrington was promoted to Managing Director, while Andrew Collins, Matthew Hamilton and Jay Pauley were promoted to Principal.

Len Ferrington was promoted to Managing Director from Principal. Len joined Summit’s West Coast office in 2006 as an Associate, and has served as a Principal since 2011. His board and investment experience includes A10 Networks, Access Information Management, Heald College (acquired by Corinthian Colleges), RuffaloCODY, Trident University International and Ubiquiti Networks (NASDAQ: UBNT). He holds a BS from the Leventhal School of Accounting at the University of Southern California.
Andy Collins was promoted to Principal from Vice President. Andy joined Summit’s West Coast office as an Associate in 2008, and has served as a Vice President since 2011. His board and investment experience includes Delphix, JAMF Software, NetWitness (acquired by EMC Corporation), Philz Coffee, RiskIQ, Rocket Fuel (NASDAQ: FUEL), Ubiquiti Networks (NASDAQ: UBNT), WebAction, Wildfire Interactive (acquired by Google), Winshuttle Holdings and Wowza Media Systems. He holds a BS from Miami University.
Jay Pauley was promoted to Principal from Vice President. Jay joined Summit’s Boston office in 2010 and moved to Menlo Park last year. His board and investment experience includes Central Security Group and Parts Town. He holds a BS, magna cum laude, from the Honors Business Program at the Ohio State University and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Matt Hamilton was promoted to Principal from Vice President. Matt joined Summit’s Boston office in 2005 as an Associate, and has served as a Vice President since 2009. His board and investment experience includes Flow Traders, Focus Financial Partners, Progressive Finance, Salient Partners, and Telerik. He holds a BA, summa cum laude, from Colby College.
