Electra Bicycle Company, a global designer and marketer of comfort bicycles has been sold to Trek Bicycle Corporation. Harris Williams & Co acted as the exclusive advisor to Electra, a portfolio company of Caltius Equity Partners.
Harris Williams & Co., a preeminent middle market investment bank focused on the advisory needs of clients worldwide, announces the sale of Electra Bicycle Company, LLC (Electra), the premier global designer and marketer of comfort bicycles, to Trek Bicycle Corporation (Trek). Harris Williams & Co. acted as the exclusive advisor to Electra, a portfolio company of Caltius Equity Partners (Caltius). The transaction closed on December 31, 2013 and was led by John Neuner, Red Norrie, Ryan Budlong, Matt Conaty and David Bhattacharyya from Harris Williams & Co.’s Consumer Group.

The company offers a variety of unique bicycles for men, women and children under its Cruiser, Amsterdam, Townie, Ticino and Verse brands. The company’s global headquarters are located in Vista, CA, with distribution in 35 countries worldwide.
