VC-backed Nebula names new CTO

Nebula has hired Vish Ishaya as chief technology officer. The appointment is effective immediately. Ishaya was a a member of the NASA team that created OpenStack. Based in Mountain View, Calif., Nebula is a private cloud company. Its backers include Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Comcast Ventures and Highland Capital Partners.


MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Nebula, the enterprise private cloud company, today announced the appointment of Vish Ishaya to the role of Chief Technology Officer. Ishaya, a member of the NASA team that created OpenStack, is a prominent figure in the cloud computing industry. This appointment is effective immediately and Ishaya will report to Gordon Stitt, Nebula Chief Executive Officer.

Ishaya was instrumental in the founding story of OpenStack. He and a small team of developers wrote the first version of Nova, OpenStack’s compute project, which he led for two years. In addition to being a member of the OpenStack Technical Committee, Ishaya was recently appointed as Director on the OpenStack Foundation Board. Prior to Nebula, Ishaya was a founding engineer of the OpenStack project at NASA as a principal of Anso Labs, which was later acquired by Rackspace Hosting.
