Ethan Beard, a former Facebook director and a member of the Silicon Valley cover band Coverflow, has joined Greylock Partners as entrepreneur-in-residence. Beard, who’s Greylock bio is available here, was previously director of the developer network at Facebook, the social networking company in which Greylock was an early investor. Before Facebook, Beard was at Google, where he served as director of social media and new business. It’s unknown what sector he will focus on. He told TechCrunch that he intends to keep an open mind about what kind of company to start. Beard left Facebook after the company’s IPO in May 2012. Beard also plays guitar in the band Coverflow, whose other members include bassist Tim Chang, managing director at Mayfield Fund; lead singer Raj Kapoor, venture advisor at Mayfield; drummer Philip “Pud” Kaplan, an entrepreneur and angel investor; and guitarist Prashant Fuloria, formerly with Facebook, a onetime Mayfield EIR and now chief product officer at Flurry.
