Bloglovin, a platform that pulls users’ favorite blogs into a single, beautiful feed, and allows them to discover the best content in fashion and lifestyle, today announced the appointment of industry veteran Joy Marcus as Chief Executive Officer. Former CEO and Co-Founder, Mattias Swenson, will continue to lead product development as the company’s Chief Product Officer.

Bloglovin was brought to the US and received seed funding from New York based startup studio Betaworks, venture capital firm Lerer Ventures, Whitestar Capital, and other leading early stage investors in 2013. The company grew an exponential 350% in 2013, and the platform now reaches more than 12 million users, the majority being fashion savvy women.
“We are thrilled to welcome Joy as our new CEO,” said Mattias Swenson, Co-Founder, Bloglovin. “Joy’s experience running and counseling digital ventures, and her passion for our key category, fashion, uniquely positions her to lead Bloglovin through our next phase of growth.”
Marcus has extensive experience in the media and technology industry and a proven track record launching and growing companies. Prior to joining Bloglovin, Marcus was a Managing Director for Gotham Ventures, and is continuing as a Venture Partner with the firm.

These communities enable users to discover and read about what they love, while celebrating the content creators. Bloglovin enriches and simplifies users’ lives. I’m excited to be at the helm as we plot this innovative company’s future.”
“Joy is an extraordinary operator and added tremendous value to our portfolio companies,” said Danny Schultz, Co-Founder and Managing Director, Gotham Ventures. “We look forward to continuing to work with her as a Venture Partner with Gotham, and wish her the greatest success at Bloglovin.”
