Utilidata has hired Siobhan MacDermott as chief information security officer. Previously, MacDermott worked at AVG Technologies where she served as chief policy officer. Based at Utilidata’s Providence, R.I., headquarters, Ms. MacDermott is responsible for overseeing the company’s information technology and product security programs, and ensuring that Utilidata’s products and processes are developed with the challenges of 21st century cyber security in mind.

In addition to her global policy experience, she has authored three books on cyber security and is currently working on a fourth.
