Boris Wertz, general partner at Vancouver-based Version One Ventures, a micro fund focused on early-stage consumer Internet, e-commerce, SaaS and mobile companies, has joined Andreessen Horowitz as a partner. Andreessen Horowitz, which recently raised $1.5 billion for its fourth fund, announced the move on its blog. The firm said that Wertz, who invests in Canadian and U.S.-based companies, will continue to invest from his own fund. And “when it makes sense he’ll also bring a16z into the equation, as well as representing a16z on the boards of select startups,” the firm wrote in the blog post.
