The French startup Augment raises $1.5M to speed up the international growth of its augmented reality app.
Augment is a mobile app that enables sales reps to simulate their products in augmented reality in an ultra realistic way and in real size, directly in within their clients’ environment, as you can see in this video. Augment stands out from the other augmented reality companies with a unique SaaS platform, affordable and easy to use for all companies.
Augment has already over a hundred clients under subscription in several industries (brands, agencies, packaging and POP display manufacturers, architecture firms…), and just raised $1.5M to speed up its international business development and to finance its R&D program.
In order to boost its business development Augment is first focusing on consumer goods companies which will use the app to help their sales reps sell merchandising tools to retailers.
Augment has already convinced the European division of L’Oréal Professional Products to gear up its 1,700 sales reps with the app.
Since its inception in 2011 Augment has been thinking globally. The team is used to attending international trade shows in order to meet big industrial players. Augment has identified a great potential especially in the US, a country that already counts 45% of its clients. To boost and manage its business development in North America, Augment has decided to open a commercial office summer 2014 in Chicago.
Augment will also reinforce its R&D team in Paris to speed up the development of its 3D augmented reality engine, the first one designed for mobile devices, and to adapt its app and web admin platform to the needs of large multinationals.
Augment offers a turnkey augmented reality solution to professionals, through its SaaS (Software as a Service) platform.
Companies can easily upload the 3D designs of their products on the web site of Augment.
Then the app enables users to visualize these 3D designs in real size, in a real environment, in augmented reality.
Augment is an efficient tool to assess new products in their intended environment. Then it enables to speed up the design approval process and to cut prototyping costs. Augment also helps sales reps to boost their sales.
The app is available on iPad, iPhone and Android for free. Companies can subscribe to a Business Pack for $20 per user per month.
Augment was founded in October 2011. The startup is based in Paris (France) and will open a commercial office in Chicago this summer.
