SALT LAKE CITY, June 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Health Catalyst today announced that Fraser Bullock has been elected Chairman of the Board of Directors for the company effective as of its most recent board meeting in May. Bullock is succeeding David A. Burton, MD, 70, who is retiring from the board after serving as board chairman since November 2012, and as a member of the board since September 2011. Dr. Burton will continue to serve as a Senior Vice President at Health Catalyst, contributing to research and development associated with its clinical and accountable care products.
Bullock, 59, has served as a board observer of Health Catalyst since 2012. He is co-founder and a managing director of Sorenson Capital, a Salt Lake City-based private equity firm. Bullock was an original partner of Bain Capital from 1984 to 1986 and prior to that worked as a manager at Bain & Company. Bullock is recognized for his knowledge of Health Catalyst and his extensive experience in guiding the growth and development of technology companies as well as his expertise in operational, financial, and strategic planning matters.
“We are honored that Fraser has agreed to join us as Chairman,” said Dan Burton, CEO of Health Catalyst. “He brings a wealth of relevant technology and operating experience to our Board. His experience as a board member or as chairman of other high-growth software companies has already benefited Health Catalyst, and I anticipate that Fraser’s leadership and experience will uniquely contribute to the company’s development during this next chapter of Health Catalyst’s journey. I look forward to working with him as we continue our efforts in becoming the healthcare industry’s first choice for data warehousing and analytics.”
“I am excited by this opportunity to serve as chairman of Health Catalyst, and grateful for the leadership and energy that Dr. Burton has given to the company and its board during his tenure here,” said Bullock. “Under Dr. Burton’s guidance, the company established itself as an innovator in the use of data warehousing and analytics to improve patient care and reduce costs. The company has developed solutions under his leadership to advance the science and benefits of healthcare analytics. Dr. Burton has made an indelible mark on the company and on the world of healthcare and it has been an honor for all of us to work with him.”
