Anonymous social networking app Anomo has secured a $800,000 convertible debt investment from a group of Seattle-based investors. The group of super angel investors includes Maveron, Orca Bay Capital, Lee Zehrer, founder of Kiss.com and Amit Mital, CTO of Symtantec.
The anonymous social networking app, Anomo, has recently received a $800K convertible debt investment from a group of Seattle-based investors. The group of super angel investors includes Maveron, the leading consumer venture firm, along with Orca Bay Capital, Lee Zehrer, the Founder of Kiss.com and Amit Mital, the CTO of Symtantec.
Anomo, whose key features include avatar identities and a smart matching algorithm, was co-founded by James Sun, the CEO of Pirq and the first Asian American finalist on The Apprentice.The mobile app is an untraditional social network platform that provides users with a space to meet new people and explore their interests all while maintaining control of personal information, thanks to its process of starting out anonymous but revealing one’s real self over time.
The investment comes in a time of Anomo’s rapid growth and high engagement numbers. Since its launch in October, the mobile app’s daily active users have grown ten-fold with users spending on average 37 minutes per day on Anomo .
