Mark One, Makers of Vessyl, Secures $3 Million in Seed Funding Co-led by Felicis Ventures and Horizons Ventures
SAN FRANCISCO – (August 21, 2014) – Today Mark One, the company behind Vessyl, the cup that automatically tracks your consumption to help you make healthier choices, is announcing that it has closed $3 million in seed funding co-led by Felicis Ventures and Li Ka-shing’s Horizons Ventures. This round of financing enables Mark One to continue building out its talented team and will support the manufacturing and delivery of Vessyl.
“We believed in Justin and the Mark One team from the first meeting because they created an awesome product, which looks like it was sent from the future to empower people by enabling them to track their nutrition effortlessly,” said Aydin Senkut, founder and managing director of Felicis Ventures.
Bart Swanson from Horizons Ventures said, “Justin has created an extremely disruptive product with global appeal and brilliant design. The Vessyl will help us make life-long healthier choices.”
The most successful automatic nutrient tracker ever, Vessyl beat its pre-sales goal within just two hours of launch and surpassed $1 million in sales within about a month of its campaign. This incredible consumer traction can be attributed to the compelling need people have to improve health and nutrition, as well as the product’s sleek design.
Vessyl is the first product to solve the consumption side of the health equation by automatically tracking everything we consume and providing personalized and actionable feedback on how to meet our health goals. Beyond consumer backing, the investments from Felicis Ventures and Horizons Ventures further validate Mark One’s potential as an impactful consumer health company.
Mark One also announced an extension of its presales campaign earlier this week. The pre-sales discounted rate of $99 has been extended, and customers who order now will be included in the second batch of Vessyls. Eventually, the cup will retail for $199, but for now early adopters can continue to enjoy discounted pricing and $10 off for every friend they refer.
