PRESS RELEASE

Looop, the online learning platform for startups and mid-sized businesses, has raised $2m in funding from an online learning industry expert in Australia. The funding will be used to roll out the platform across the UK, as well as to launch and evolve Looop’s native app, available from today on Android and following imminently on iOS.

Unlike existing Learning Management Systems (LMS), Looop aims to democratise the process across organisations, regardless of size, budget or specialist software knowledge. Traditionally, workplace LMS have been expensive and time-consuming to maintain with the onus being on one particular department or individual to manage. Looop makes it easy to effectively roll out training modules in a matter of clicks; for startups and fast growth organisations where priorities are in a state of flux, this is particularly important.

Looop believes that microlearning will revolutionise traditional e-learning; the Looop platform has been designed specifically with this learning technique in mind, engineered to disrupt the outdated corporate training model. Microlearning acknowledges that we retain information far better in short bursts, using interactive and multi-sensory techniques. Looop allows employees to tap into training sessions at their desk or on the move, via the mobile version.

Ben Muzzell, co-founder, Looop said: “With Looop, we’re addressing a large gap in the market. Companies often have the training content available for to their employees – perhaps a product sheet or video – but don’t have an efficient and flexible platform from which to distribute it. We want to change that by providing a cost-effective and customisable product.”

To further support its existing mobile offering, Looop has today launched its native app on Android, with a version on iOS to be launched imminently.

Muzzell added: “As well as helping us evolve our mobile technology, including the development of Looop’s dedicated app, this funding has fast-tracked our expansion plans; now in the UK, we will be breaking into the US next month. Further down the line, we also plan to develop an API to integrate with learning management systems designed for large, multinational enterprises. We have the backing of our investor to develop these updates over the coming 12 months to position Looop as the de facto learning tool in businesses of any size.”
