Adams Street Partners has named Yar-Ping Soo to lead the firm’s Asian investment team. Soo, a partner at Adams Street since 2010, will be succeeding Piau-Voon Wang, who will become a senior advisor. Prior to joining Adams Street, Soo worked at GIC Special Investments where she held various senior investment positions.
Chicago, IL and Singapore – December 2, 2015 – Adams Street Partners has announced that Yar-Ping Soo, a Partner in the firm since 2010, will assume the additional responsibility of leading the firm’s Asian investment team. In her new leadership role, she will succeed Piau-Voon (“PV”) Wang, who will become Senior Advisor to the firm. This transition will take place in the fourth quarter of 2015. Adams Street Partners’ investments in Asia are managed from offices in Singapore, Beijing and Tokyo.

Yar-Ping Soo is a Partner of the firm specializing in Asian investments, including pan-regional leveraged buyouts and country-focused funds in such markets as Greater China, Japan, Korea and Indonesia. Prior to joining Adams Street Partners, she held senior investment positions with GIC Special Investments (GICSI), the private equity arm of the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation, where she focused on leveraged buyout funds, growth capital funds and co-investments.
PV Wang is a Partner primarily focused on the Asian portfolio. He joined Adams Street Partners in 1999, initially in the London office, and was active in formulating the firm’s private equity fund investment strategy for Asia. He launched the firm’s Singapore office in 2006 and its Beijing office in 2011. Before joining Adams Street Partners, he was associated with Brinson Partners/UBS Global Asset Management, Nikko Capital Singapore and Indosuez Asset Management Singapore.
