Brian Thorne has joined New York-based growth equity and venture firm Silas Capital as a partner ahead of a new fund raise this year, according to a press release. The firm invests in consumer brands, and is led by Carter Weiss and Frank Lin.
Thorne joins the firm from private equity firm Tengram Capital Partners, where he was a principal. Thorne will focus on investing in the beauty, fashion and apparel sectors, according to Weiss.
The firm’s investments include Boll & Branch, Bare Snacks, Casper and Proenza Schouler in its growth portfolio, and brands like CircleUp and Tracksmith in its venture portfolio, according to its website.
