New York-based Chainalysis, which has rolled out new compliance software to enable exchanges, brokers and banks to monitor their cryptocurrency transactions, announced it has raised $16 million in Series A round of funding from Benchmark. As part of the funding, Benchmark General Sarah Tavel is joining the company board. This is her first deal since joining the firm last year. The company, founded in 2014 by Jan Moller, Jonathan Levin and Michael Gronager, has now raised $17.6 million in total funding. Seed investors include TechStars, Digital Cureency Group and PointNine Capital.
