Tepper to buy Carolina Panthers for $2.2 bln: Associated Press


David Tepper is buying the Carolina Panthers franchise for $2.2 billion, the Associated Press is reporting. Jerry Richardson, Panthers team founder, is the seller, the story said. The $2.2 billion is the most ever paid for an NFL franchise, the AP said. Tepper is the co-founder Appaloosa Management, a hedge fund.
