BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–ThirdChannel, the leading provider of retail execution and analytics solutions for consumer brands, today announced the appointment of John Reilly as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). John will work closely with the ThirdChannel leadership team to accelerate the company’s continued growth and leadership position.
“We’re excited to welcome John to the ThirdChannel team as we continue to expand our software and field services platform and help consumer brands adapt to retail’s new reality,” said Gina Ashe, CEO, ThirdChannel. “Consumer brands today are serving an entirely new kind of customer, as Millennials and Gen Zers now represent about $743 billion in collective buying power, and growing. These shoppers have grown up with technology, and demand an elevated experience in stores on all levels.”
“Yet consumer brands are still missing the mark. As two thirds of consumer brands’ spend on trade promotions in stores do not even break even, flawless in-store execution and real-time store monitoring are required more than ever for any brand to deliver on shoppers’ demands. Brands need data-driven solutions to help them make real-time business decisions, or risk their in-store experiences falling flat,” continued Ashe. “Having John onboard will allow us to ensure that ThirdChannel continues to have the proper financial infrastructure in place as we expand our retail intelligence platform and help consumer brands succeed during this period of retail transformation.”
Reilly has more than 20 years of global financial management experience at venture capital and private equity-backed organizations within the enterprise software, SaaS, and manufacturing industries. He joins ThirdChannel from Cryptzone, now a Cyxtera business, where he held the position of Global Controller. In this role, Reilly was responsible for the company’s financial management and operations, and helped to facilitate its successful acquisition by Cyxtera. Throughout his career, Reilly has also held financial leadership positions at Promisec, Kalido, and ManageSoft.
“As a $5 trillion-dollar market, there’s an exciting opportunity in the retail industry right now for technology like ThirdChannel’s to fuel innovation,” said Reilly. “What drew me to ThirdChannel was the leadership team’s drive to seize that opportunity, along with their passion and deep knowledge of the industry. I’m excited to be a part of the company’s next wave of growth, as we march toward new and exciting milestones on the horizon.”
Reilly’s appointment as CFO follows other recent additions to ThirdChannel’s leadership team. Since closing $7 million in a Series A funding round led by Fung Capital last Fall, ThirdChannel has also named a new VP of Sales, Tom Morris, and a VP of Marketing, Keshav Shivdasani.
ThirdChannel’s retail intelligence platform is used by the world’s leading consumer brands to see what’s happening — or should be happening — with their products on the ground in thousands of stores, and to identify where to allocate marketing resources to drive higher sales. The Web-based platform integrates real-time data from field teams on the ground with POS, inventory, traffic, and other sources of data to reveal retail execution issues. The system generates action plans that guide field team efforts, unlocking sales potential and quantifying results with measurable ROI. Don’t have a field team? ThirdChannel matches an exclusive, on-brand force for consumer brands and retailers to flex up presence in stores.
