Windjammer wraps up fifth fund at $870 mln

Newport Beach, California and Waltham, Massachusetts-based Windjammer Capital Investors has closed its fifth fund at a hard cap of $870 million.

Windjammer Senior Equity Fund V’s limited partners include private and public pension programs, global insurance companies, endowments and large family offices. Fund V will focus on making investments in middle-market B2B companies in the industrial, specialty distribution and business services sectors.

Lazard worked as a placement agent for Fund V while Kirkland & Ellis provided legal counsel.

In March 2013, Windjammer closed its fourth fund at $726 million. No performance data was available on the fund.

Founded in 1990, Windjammer has raised over $3 billion in committed capital, according to the firm.
