Unusual Ventures appoints ex-Wealthfront president as partner

Unusual Ventures has named Andy Johns as a partner. Johns is the former president at Wealthfront.

PRESS RELEASE

Unusual Ventures just announced the appointment of Andy Johns, former President at Wealthfront, as Partner focused on building the firm’s consumer portfolio. Andy is the first investing partner to join the firm alongside Unusual’s founders, John Vrionis (former Partner at Lightspeed) and Jyoti Bansal (founder of AppDynamics).

During his time at Facebook, Twitter, and Quora, Andy earned his stripes as one of the top go-to growth guys in the business. At Wealthfront he was groomed by Andy Rachleff to become a leading product development expert. It’s this combination of both growth and product acumen that makes Andy uniquely suited to lead Unusual’s consumer portfolio.

Andy joined Unusual because he believes in the firm’s mission to fix the broken VC market by way of hands-on guidance and mentorship for entrepreneurs. He’s passionate about – and has experience in – building companies from the ground up and believes that providing the right tools early on to help scale a company is integral to their success.
