This morning, we have a story from Forbes on migrant children at the border. One in six of the 12,500 migrant minors that are in custody of the U.S. government are staying at a shelter operated by a private equity tycoon, the story said.
Comprehensive Health Services (CHS) is the nation’s only for-profit youth migrant shelter operator, Forbes said. CHS runs Homestead, the biggest shelter for unaccompanied minors in the U.S. and also the only temporary influx center for migrant children. Thomas Campbell, founding partner and majority owner of private equity firmDC Capital Partners, is the chairman of CHS, the story said.
The federal government paid CHS more than $210 million for its shelter work in 2018,Forbes said. See the story here.
Try, try again: Chele Chiavacci Farley, owner of Mistral Capital International, now has her sights trained on the seat held by Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, the Times Herald-Record reported. Farley plans to run for New York’s 18th Congressional District seat in 2020, the story said.
Farley tried to unseat U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand last year. She’s launching her campaign 19 months before the election to get her name out there and start raising funds, the story said.

Fintech alert! General Atlantic is investing in Deutsche Börse’s buy of Axioma. It plans to combine the company with its index business. Deutsche Börse is investing $850 million for a majority, 78 percent, of the company. General Atlantic is investing $715 million and will have 19 percent. Check out our brief here.
