Alumni Ventures Group’s Fission Ventures, a venture fund for Columbia University alumni, is searching for a principal. The hire will participate in the identification of deal-sourcing targets; conduct outreach to VCs, entrepreneurs and incubators; and evaluate about 25 companies per week for possible investments. Candidates should be a graduate of Columbia University; and have four to eight years of experience in venture capital, private equity, finance or a leadership/business development role in an entrepreneurial organization. Venture Capital or direct investing experience is a plus. The position is in New York City.

Brookfield Asset Management is seeking an associate for its new venture capital arm. The hire will help build the deal-sourcing methodology and engine that will drive BAMV’s ability to find attractive investments and assist in due diligence on potential investments, working with the senior team to determine whether to invest or pass on opportunities. Also, he or she will present Brookfield as the first point of contact in meetings with founders and outside stakeholders in potential investments. Candidates should have a university degree in finance or business; plus one to four years of relevant experience, preferably two years in investment banking, accounting or consulting. Venture capital or private equity experience is an asset. The position is in San Francisco.

Goldman Sachs is seeking to hire a private equity associate for its Alternative Investments & Manager Selection Group. The hire will source, conduct due diligence and evaluate private equity strategies and managers for consideration as part of discretionary investment vehicles and/or separate account mandates. Also, he or she will conduct qualitative and quantitative research around private equity strategy areas that would inform portfolio construction perspectives and asset allocation recommendations. Candidates should have a minimum of three plus years of experience in private equity/corporate finance/M&A/leverage finance. The position is in New York City.

Blackstone is on the lookout for an investor relations and reporting associate to join its private equity business. Responsibilities include supporting all aspects of the marketing and fundraising cycle from fund concept, PPM preparation, launch, road show presentations, marketing, LP diligence and closing of investor capital commitments. Also he or she will leverage investment activity and valuations across all funds, including capital calls, distributions, quarterly valuations, etc. to create bespoke investor presentations. Candidates should have an undergraduate degree in finance, accounting or economics with strong GPA; and three to five years of related experience. The position is in New York City.

Freeport Financial Partners is on the hunt for an associate. Duties include underwriting and managing middle-market leveraged loan facilities supporting private equity sponsored buyouts, refinancings and recapitalizations.
