Press Release

Venture capital firm, Tricent Capital announced Wednesday they acquired online business development company, Customer Discovery Ninja. This deal will coordinate the integration of Customer Discover Ninja into Tricent Capital’s existing entrepreneur training course, StartupTraining.com.

“Customer Discovery Ninja will be a great supplemental tool to add to our Startup Training course,” said Brian Botch, Founding Partner of Tricent Capital. “We hope to continue adding acquisitions like this so we can regularly provide the best resources to the entrepreneurs enrolled in StartupTraining.com.”

Customer Discovery Ninja is the brainchild of Jack Dean and Steven Sherman, who are major advocates of the lean startup methodology and passionate about spreading it to fellow entrepreneurs. As entrepreneurs themselves, Jack and Steven found there was no easily accessible, on-demand way to conduct customer discovery interviews and validate demand for a new idea or service, an essential piece of applying the scientific method to a startup formation. They began Customer Discovery Ninja as a tool for entrepreneurs to easily access their targeted customer segment in order to gain insights about market demand.

As a result of Jack and Steven’s success, students of StartupTraining.com began using Customer Discovery Ninja to aide in their completion of the course. When the partners of Tricent Capital discovered this tool and how it was benefiting their students, they knew it would take their Startup Training course curriculum to the next level.

“Customer Discovery Ninja is a cutting edge tool,” said Botch. “We are confident that our startup entrepreneurs will benefit from its use.”

StartupTraining.com is an educational program owned by Tricent Capital created to assist up-and-coming entrepreneurs develop their startup company. This course prepares startup founders to create and build their idea into a successful business, and upon graduation from StartupTraining.com, Tricent Capital invests an initial $25,000 into the startup with intent to invest up to an additional $3,000,000 depending on a startup’s performance.
