Lower mid-market-focused private equity firm Monomoy Capital Partners has raised about $767 million for its third fund, sweeping past its original $650 million target.
The limited partners for Fund III included endowments, foundations, pension plans, insurance companies, family offices and funds of funds.
Monomoy invests in the following sectors: manufacturing, distribution, consumer products and food service.
Acalyx Advisors and Lazard Frères & Co. served as placement agents for the fund.
In 2011, the firm closed its second fund at $400 million. No information was available on the performance of the fund.
Currently, New York-based Monomoy has over $1 billion in committed capital.
