Turnspire Capital Partners has named Abel S. Osorio as a principal and Maurice W. Murphy as an operating partner. Previously, Osorio worked at Montserrat Capital Management where he was co-founder while Murphy is currently chairman of Avkem International and founder of MWM Global Partners.
New York, NY (July 27, 2016) – Turnspire Capital Partners is pleased to announce two key additions to the Turnspire team. Abel S. Osorio has joined as a Principal and Maurice W. Murphy has joined as an Operating Partner.
Abel joins Turnspire with over 10 years of experience, most recently as a co-founder of Montserrat Capital Management, a value-oriented investment partnership focused on event-driven and special situations opportunities. Prior to Montserrat, he was a Vice President at Battery Ventures where he sourced, structured and led the execution of leveraged buyouts in North America and Europe. He started his career in private equity as an Associate at H.I.G. Capital after working as an investment banker for Thomas Weisel Partners. Abel received an MBA with honors from The Wharton School and a BA from New York University, where he graduated magna cum laude and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
Maurice is a global manufacturing executive with over 30 years of experience. He is currently Chairman of Avkem International, a supplier of chemicals and equipment for the metals industry. Additionally, as the founder of MWM Global Partners, Maurice has completed numerous turnaround, acquisition, integration, carve-out and sale projects in sectors including engineered products, chemicals and basic materials. Prior to MWM, Maurice was the CEO of PPC Insulators, a global manufacturer of high-voltage insulators with manufacturing operations in eight countries. Earlier in his career, Maurice spent 15 years at Morgan Crucible. He received his BS in Engineering from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada and completed a program on International Management at IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.
