PRESS RELEASE
Livingston International acquires Affiliated Customs Brokers
TORONTO, Sept. 19, 2016 /CNW/ – Livingston International Inc., Canada’s leading customs broker, announced today that it has acquired Affiliated Customs Brokers including its operations in Canada and the U.S., in an effort to expand its brokerage and freight forwarding offering in Quebec.
“Affiliated is one of the most reputable customs brokers and freight forwarders in Canada and, like Livingston, has a culture focused on client service,” said Livingston International’s Chief Executive Officer, Steven Preston.
The acquisition will strengthen Livingston’s service offerings in both Canada and the U.S., adding particular strength in the Quebec marketplace. Affiliated brings particularly strong expertise in the energy, printing, pharmaceuticals, automotive, capital equipment and food industries.
“Bringing together our companies will offer new opportunities to our staff as they become part of a larger global organization, while the broader range of customs and compliance services will benefit our clients,” said former Affiliated owner Gilles Rémillard.
Founded in Montreal in 1950 through an affiliation of 18 independent customs brokers, Affiliated was a family-owned company with approximately 450 employees located in 25 offices across Canada and 12 offices in the U.S.
“We chose Livingston because we felt its values and corporate culture are similar to our own and we were looking for stability and longevity to build on our legacy,” said Affiliated co-owner Josée Rémillard.
The Affiliated brand also includes: brokers J.A. Léveillé & Fils, acquired in 2001; P. Mines Customs Service Inc., acquired in 2014; and freight forwarding company A.W.W. Kyle.
