Blue Point Capital-backed GESCO acquires Savoia Canada

GESCO Holdings, a portfolio company of U.S. private equity firm Blue Point Capital Partners, has acquired Savoia Canada Inc, a Toronto distributor of ceramic, porcelain and stone surfaces for floor and wall applications. No financial terms were released for the add-on deal, GESCO’s second since it was bought by Blue Point in 2013. Founded over 50 years ago, Savoia is the domestic distribution arm of GranitiFiandre-Stonepeak. Its acquisition by GESCO, a Brampton, Ontario flooring and multi-surface distribution company, will strengthen the latter’s presence in the ceramic distribution market and enhance its offerings, Blue Point’s Jon Pressnell said.


Blue Point and GESCO Acquire Savoia Canada, Distributor of Ceramic, Porcelain and Stone

CLEVELAND, March 07, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Blue Point Capital Partners and its BPCP II platform investment, GESCO Holdings, announced today the acquisition of Savoia Canada Inc., a leading Canadian distributor of ceramic, porcelain and stone surfaces for floor and wall applications. This transaction represents the second add-on acquisition for GESCO since Blue Point acquired the platform investment in March 2013.

Founded over 50 years ago by Graniti Fiandre S.P.A. of Italy, a world-renowned manufacturer of marble, granite, stone and porcelain surface products, Savoia ( develops unique, innovative materials for commercial and residential applications. Savoia represents leading brands such as Fiandre, Iris U.S., PorcelainGres, Iris Ceramica and Ariostea.
