Silver Lake raises $15 bln for fifth tech fund

Silver Lake raised $15 billion for its fifth tech-focused fund, beating its $12.5 billion target. The fundraising total reached $14.5 billion, with a $500 million commitment from the GP, the firm said Tuesday.

Menlo Park, CA and New York, NY – April 18, 2017 – Silver Lake, the global leader in technology investing, announced today that it has raised $15 billion for Silver Lake Partners V, enhancing its capacity to pursue large-scale investment opportunities in technology and technology-enabled industries in geographies around the world. The firm secured limited partner capital commitments of $14.5 billion, surpassing its $12.5 billion target, as well as approximately $500 million from the general partner. The firm now manages about $39 billion in combined assets under management and committed capital.
