O’Melveny appoints Scrivano head of global M&A and PE practice

Law firm O’Melveny & Myers LLP has named partner Paul Scrivano as head of global M&A and private equity practice. Scrivano has advised on more than 100 public company M&A transactions.

NEW YORK ─ DECEMBER 28, 2015 ─ O’Melveny & Myers LLP is pleased to announce that partner Paul Scrivano has been named Global M&A and Private Equity Practice Group Leader.

Scrivano — who divides his time between O’Melveny’s New York, San Francisco, and Silicon Valley offices — has advised on more than 100 public company M&A transactions. For nearly two decades, he has guided clients in a broad range of US and cross-border M&A transactions, including mergers, tender and exchange offers, stock and asset acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures. He is a veteran of numerous proxy contests and other contested matters and regularly counsels corporate boards and committees in transactional and high-profile corporate governance matters and takeover defense strategies. Scrivano’s engagements have included multibillion-dollar deals in industries including technology, health care (pharmaceuticals and biotechnology/life sciences), consumer products, financial services, oil and gas, chemicals (specialty and commodity), and energy and telecommunications, among others. He also advises private equity sponsors and investment banks in M&A transactions.

Scrivano’s numerous honors include selection as “California M&A Lawyer of the Year” in the ACQ Global Awards (2015) and as an “Americas Top 50 Lawyer” in the M&A Atlas Awards (2014). In addition, he was named “California Lawyer of the Year” by California Lawyer magazine (2014); one of the “Top 100 Lawyers in California” by the Daily Journal (2013); and a “Life Sciences MVP” by Law360 (2012). Scrivano has repeatedly been named a “Super Lawyer” for both the New York Metro area and for Northern California in surveys conducted by Law & Politics Media Inc. (2012-2015).
