Ex-Madison Capital MD joins Angelo Gordon’s lending group

  • Faraaz Kamran joined Twin Brook Capital Partners on January 4
  • Kamran left Madison Capital in November
  • Kamran is a Twin Brook partner and head of its healthcare initiative

Faraaz Kamran, who left Madison Capital Funding LLC in November, has joined Angelo, Gordon & Co.

Kamran is now a partner with Twin Brook Capital Partners, Angelo’s middle-market direct lending group, according to his LinkedIn profile. He will head up Twin Brook’s healthcare initiative and also be part of the firm’s investment committee, said a source, adding that Kamran started work at the Chicago-based outfit on January 4.

Calls to Kamran at Twin Brook were forwarded to his voice mail.

In late 2015, Kamran exited Madison Capital after more than eight years. He was a managing director and head of that firm’s healthcare leverage finance team, Buyouts has reported. Madison Capital, also of Chicago, provides financing for private equity sponsors.

Madison Capital declined to say if it had replaced Kamran. However, the firm’s website lists Director Adam Willis as head of Madison Capital’s healthcare team.

Kamran is the latest former Madison Capital executive to join Twin Brook. Trevor Clark and Chris Williams, who helped start Madison Capital in 1999, launched Twin Brook last year, Buyouts has reported.

Other former Madison Capital execs who have joined Twin Brook include Richard ChristensenDrew Guyette and Grant Haggard.

Angelo, Gordon, of New York, invests mainly in real estate and distressed credit. Earlier this month, firm founder John Angelo passed away at the age of 74 after a long battle with cancer, Reuters reported.
