PRESS RELEASE
7 Mile Advisors is pleased to announce the addition of Steven Cowan to our team. Steven joins us as a Managing Director and will lead our newly formed Energy & Industrial Services (EIS) market vertical and new office location in the Bank of America Center in Houston, Texas.
Steven brings over 25 years of experience in advising EIS companies on transactions ranging from cross-border M&A to public and private debt and equity placements. In addition to being an investment banker, he was a corporate development executive at portfolio companies of private equity funds where he was focused on strategic acquisitions and divestitures.
Based in the Energy Capital of the U.S., Steven will work with companies who provide oilfield equipment services and manufacturing, as well as industrial and engineering services. These companies will include oilfield equipment manufacturers, distributors and fabricators, offshore transportation and support companies, onshore and offshore well-site service providers, software and technology companies, and inspection, maintenance and repair service providers.
As a firm we believe that the Energy sector is going through an unprecedented period of transformation. Global economic uncertainty, Middle East conflicts, OPEC directives, government regulation, global commodity price volatility, and technical innovations will continue to place extreme market demands on industry participants, while creating nearly unlimited opportunities for well-prepared and focused companies. The energy markets are in a period of inflection where continued low commodity prices are forcing a reprioritization on profitability and cost structures, while making a long-term strategy challenging in anticipation of an eventual price recovery. Low crude prices should contribute to profitable opportunities for downstream players, assuming demand remains somewhat steady. Enhanced infrastructure and engineering breakthroughs in the natural gas market are also making it possible for North American producers to access a global market at an efficient cost of transportation, potentially unlocking highly disruptive changes and investment opportunities. We believe all of these forces will generate a significant amount of M&A and investment dealflow. Steven will uniquely enable us to help company CEOs, Board Members and investors address all of these, and other, transaction opportunities.
