NEW YORK, NY–(Marketwired – Jun 19, 2013) – Global management consulting firm A.T. Kearney announced today that Greg Schooley has joined the firm as partner. Greg has 25 years of experience in management consulting, private equity investing, and operating roles. He has successfully led major strategy and transformation efforts for Fortune 500 corporations and private equity funds. His experience also includes business strategy, M&A, marketing strategy and operational turnarounds.
Prior to joining A.T. Kearney, Greg led the internal consulting group for J.H. Whitney & Co., a leading midmarket buyout fund. He spent 12 years at Oliver Wyman & Co. where he was a partner. Greg also served as CEO of a privately-owned, distressed distribution business where he led the turnaround of the business. He has held marketing executive positions at Moët Hennessy-Louis Vuitton and Macy’s. Greg has lived and worked in Europe and the United States.
His work at A.T. Kearney will focus on helping major private equity funds generate top-tier returns by selecting attractive investments and creating profit growth in portfolio companies. Greg notes, “I am thrilled to be joining A.T. Kearney, not just because it is one of the oldest and most esteemed names in management consulting, but because A.T. Kearney offers private equity funds a unique combination of deep industry experience, unparalleled operational improvement capabilities, and keen strategic insight. I think the private equity industry has arrived at a more challenging place where the returns that LP’s demand will not be a result of financial engineering or ever expanding multiples, but by profit growth in the portfolio. A.T. Kearney is supremely capable of helping PE funds do exactly that — driving EBITDA growth quickly.”
Bob Haas, partner and head of A.T. Kearney’s Private Equity Practice in the Americas, said, “Greg is a rare individual who has significant capabilities in business strategy, M&A, operations and turnarounds — and a deep understanding of Private Equity investor dynamics. His breadth of skills, experience and insight will be extremely valuable in helping our private equity clients achieve superior returns.”
Greg has a B.S. in industrial management from Carnegie Mellon University, an M.B.A. from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University, and a post-graduate certificate from Sciences Po in Paris.
Greg will be based in A.T. Kearney’s New York office.
