Adknowledge, a Kansas City-based provider of behavioral online advertising solutions, has acquired Cubics, an online advertising network created to focus on the Facebook developer community. No financial terms were disclosed. Adknowledge raised $48 million in funding last year from Technology Crossover Ventures.
Adknowledge announced today it has acquired Cubics, Inc., the first online advertising network created to focus on the Facebook developer community. Today, Cubics represents the ad inventory on over 500 application developers within the Facebook community and serves thousands of small business advertisers at www.cubics.com
“The acquisition of Cubics gives us an incredible footprint within the social media space,” said Scott Lynn, CEO of Adknowledge. “The network is less than a year old and has already grown to over a billion impressions a month. By leveraging our international sales teams and targeting technologies, we intend to help Cubics remain the leader in the social advertising space.”
Dwayne Lafleur, Founder of Cubics, said: “We are excited about combining our business with the Adknowledge platform as the social advertising space grows. In addition to Facebook, we are now supporting Friendster and plan to support Bebo in the coming weeks. With the announcements by MySpace and others, we are excited about the potential of remaining the leading ad network for application developers.”
Recently, Adknowledge completed the acquisition of Mediarun, one of the leading ad networks within the United Kingdom and Australia. Cubics is the second acquisition for Adknowledge in less than a month. “We continue to build-out our portfolio through organic growth and acquisitions in order to remain the leading behaviorally-targeted ad network,” said Scott Lynn.
