Alpine Data Labs appoints chief marketing officer

Alpine Data Labs has appointed Bruno Aziza as its first chief marketing officer. Alpine Data Labs provides advanced analytics software. The company is backed by Battery Ventures among others.

Alpine Data Labs, the leader in Advanced Analytics Software for Big Data and Hadoop, announced today that it appointed Bruno Aziza as its first Chief Marketing Officer.
“Bruno is the perfect leader to have on board to communicate the company’s bold vision and unique offering,” says Tim Guleri, Managing Director at Sierra Ventures. “He understands the market, and his skillset will be a tremendous asset to the team. We now have the A-team of Advanced Analytics.”
Alpine’s leadership team is composed of distinguished industry trailblazers. Joe Otto, the company’s CEO, has a 20+ year track record leading high performance teams at startups and software giants. Steven Hillion, Alpine’s CPO, founded Greenplum’s Data Science Team, holds patents in the field, and has led initiatives to build Big Data standards. Aziza ran Marketing at Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT), SAP/Business Objects (NYSE: SAP) and Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL). He comes to Alpine from SiSense, where, during his tenure, the company grew by 512% in 2013, raised $10M in a round led by Battery Ventures and was named Top 10 Big Data Analytics startup by CRN and CIO magazines.
“Bruno is the type of leader that inspires and gets things done,” says Alistair Croll, author of Lean Analytics. “I’ve seen Bruno at work — online and in person — and “I know he’ll do great things at Alpine.”

A Broader Vision, A Bigger Market.
“Alpine addresses a broad market and makes Predictive Analytics accessible to all Data Analysts — not just the Data Scientist,” explains Aziza. “Alpine is the only Advanced Analytics solution that’s visual, web-based and runs directly on a company’s existing data stack,” he continues, “With Alpine, any Analyst can build and operationalize models on Hadoop quickly and with minimal friction.”
Alpine’s software requires no download and does away with proprietary scripting and coding. This makes it a cost-effective solution to acquire and an easy application to get started with. This contrasts with other market solutions that need to be downloaded and require specialized scripting knowledge to work.
“There is simply nothing like Alpine,” says Katrin Ribant, CSO at Datorama, a cross-channel marketing analytics company that recently received investment from Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt’s venture capital fund.
Leaders in Financial Services, Healthcare, and Retail have already flocked to Alpine’s technology. The company has received the praises of A.T Kearney, Havas Media, Sony, Nike, Barclays, Kaiser Permanente and Blackberry, to name a few.
Alpine provides a compelling alternative to solutions such as SAS Institute, SPSS IBM, or SAP (NYSE: SAP). To find out more about Alpine Data Labs, go to
