Ambient Sound Investments has sold its stake in Armorize Technologies to Proofpoint for approximately $25 million. Based in Taiwan, Armorize Technologies is a provider of cloud-based anti-malware products.

Ambient Sound Investments (ASI) successfully exited from its investment into Taiwan-based Armorize Technologies, a leading developer of cloud-based anti-malware products. Armorize was acquired by NASDAQ listed Proofpoint, a leading security-as-a-service provider, that focuses on cloud-based solutions for anti-malware. Proofpoint will pay approximately 25 million USD for 100% of Armorize’s shares.

When making early-stage investments ASI is seeking technology-based competitive advantages and this strategy has once again proved to be successful,” said Margus Uudam, Head of Venture Capital Investments at ASI “Armorize is a leading technology innovator in its segment, with strong engineering and business development teams,” added Uudam.
Armorize has pioneered next-generation threat and malware detection technologies. The company was founded by two brothers Wayne and Matt Huang in 2005. Both founders had strong experience in security software field from earlier careers and they continue to be recognized experts in the industry.
Ambient Sound Investments (ASI) is an investment company founded in 2003 with the objective of managing and investing th e assets of Skype’s four Estonian founding engineers. ASI primarily finances international early-stage technology companies. The company has financed over 30 technology start-ups worldwide – Asia, the United States, Western and Eastern Europe. Armorize was ASi’s fifth successful exit.
