American Builders Supply Buys Clermont Builders

American Builders Supply, a company backed by private equity firm Blue Wolf Capital, has acquired Clermont Builders. Terms of the deal were not released. Clermont Builders is based in central Florida, and supplies materials and services including lumber, doors, millwork, trusses, and wall panels.

American Builders Supply (“ABS”), the largest independent supplier of doors, windows and trusses to homebuilders in Florida, acquired Clermont Builders Supply, Inc. (“CBS”), the company announced today.  Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.  ABS is owned by an affiliate of Blue Wolf Capital Fund II, L.P. (“Blue Wolf”).

CBS is a 67-year old, third generation family-owned company with an excellent reputation in the central Florida market.  It supplies materials and services including lumber, doors, millwork, trusses, and wall panels.

This acquisition comes on the heels of ABS absorbing two other area competitors in October of 2011.

In conjunction with the transaction, David Wallace has joined ABS as its Vice President of Sales and Tad Wolfe has joined ABS as Vice President, Lumber and Truss Operations.  Mr. Wallace was most recently Vice President of Sales and Marketing at CBS.  He is a certified General Contractor in the State of Florida and has worked in the construction industry since 1980.  Mr. Wolfe was most recently President of CBS.  He has spent his entire career at  CBS, where he has  run all phases of the business, from concrete and block to lumber and trusses.
