Apollo’s Harris and Blackstone’s Blitzer interested in buying New York Mets: Variety

Josh Harris, a co-founder of Apollo Global Management and David Blitzer, a senior executive at Blackstone Group, are among the suitors vying to buy the New York Mets, reported Variety. The entertainment news outlet noted that that the major league New York baseball team has “retained Steve Greenberg at Allen & Co. to oversee the sale process.” In addition to Harris and Blitzer, former Yankee Alex Rodriguez and his fiancee, the actress/singer Jennifer Lopez, have also expressed interest in buying the Mets and have retained JPMorgan Chase to help raise capital for a possible bid.
