Applimation Buys Gamma

Applimation Inc., a Chicago-based provider of enterprise data management solutions for Oracle, PeopleSoft and Siebel environments, has acquired Gamma Enterprise Technologies, a provider of application data management software for SAP environments. No financial terms were disclosed. Applimation has raised over $9 million in VC funding from firms like Battery Ventures, JMI Equity, RPM Ventures and M Group. Gamma had raised around $10.7 million from ArrowPath Venture Capital and Palomar Ventures.

This announcement follows record 2007 financial performance from both Applimation and Gamma. Applimation’s bookings increased 55 percent from 2006, and the company’s total year over year revenue grew by 51 percent. Gamma also experienced unprecedented numbers in 2007, with a 50 percent increase in bookings. Additionally, both companies saw an acceleration in revenue generated from strategic partners around the world.

The acquisition of Gamma gives Applimation an immediate leadership position in application data management for SAP solutions. By adding the InfoShuttle Suite for SAP application data management and security to the Informia� product line, Applimation now offers an end-to-end portfolio of application data management solutions for enterprise customers. Together, Applimation and Gamma offer an unparalleled depth of expertise in production database archiving, data provisioning and security for non-production systems and test data management.
