PRESS RELEASE

Audax Private Equity portfolio company, Corrona, acquires HealthUnlocked

The Company
HealthUnlocked is a leading social patient health network with operations based in London, UK. With 1.3 million active members, 20 million pieces of user-generated content, and over 500 communities centered around chronic health conditions, HealthUnlocked is one of the largest and most reputable social patient health networks in the world.

The Deal
Corrona, LLC (“Corrona”), a portfolio company of Audax Private Equity (“Audax”), has completed the acquisition of HealthUnlocked, representing the company’s first acquisition since Audax’ investment.

The Thesis
In December of 2019, Audax acquired Corrona, a leading provider of real world observational data for autoimmune diseases to pharmaceutical companies. Based in Waltham, MA, Corrona maintains the world’s most comprehensive patient registry databases for autoimmune diseases (75K+ patients tracked across all relevant health measures) and a team of 50 PhD and advanced degree biostatisticians and epidemiologists to analyze the data on behalf of customers. In October of 2020, Corrona acquired HealthUnlocked, enhancing Corrona’s data ecosystem by providing a broad base of patient reported outcomes and direct access to patients for its patient experience and registry businesses. The combined platform will provide pharmaceutical companies with expanded reach to targeted populations and ask curated questions to ensure the safety and efficacy of their drugs.
